1. Please describe briefly how the Japan Foundation Fellowship experience influenced your career.

Answer: The Japan Foundation Fellowship allowed me to conduct research at Nihon University in Tokyo for my dissertation, the Priest Jakuren and late Heian poetry. Thanks to the Fellowship, I was able to complete the dissertation and earn the PhD.
