1. Please describe briefly how the Japan Foundation Fellowship experience influenced your career.

Answer: It was integral for allowing me to conduct my PhD research in Japan. That laid the groundwork for my future research career, and also enabled me to get my first tenure-track job. It was also important for helping me to spend a sabbatical in Japan to further my research.

2. The Japan Foundation is planning to create a network or forum among past Japan Foundation fellows. Please let us know if you have any suggestions in terms of themes, format, etc.
