1. Please describe briefly how the Japan Foundation Fellowship experience influenced your career.

Answer: It gave me direct experience of living in Japan, studying at Japanese universities with Japanese academics, and the opportunity to do extended research in Japanese museums, libraries and private collections that led to the publication of books, articles and exhibition catalogues. It has been critical for my work.
