Answer: D. No, I am not engaged in Japanese Studies at all.

2. Please describe what you are currently doing. (If you have your own website or any relevant site, provide its URL.)

Answer: I am retired. Because of your assistance, the Alfred Publishing Co., Inc. published Games Children Sing -- Japan in 2005. This is a book of children's songs and poems and it comes with a CD in both Japanese and English. When I was teaching I taught a course in Asian Music, which included Japanese music. Now I am no longer teaching. Thank you for your assistance.

3. Where did you acquire your most advanced Japanese language training for your research?

Answer: D.Other (I learned a little japanese from a private teacher.)

4. Have you ever participated in the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme?

1. Please describe briefly how the Japan Foundation Fellowship experience influenced your career.

Answer: I was able to produce the book named above. I taught an Asian Music course at St. Olaf College, and that included a unit on Japanese music. The last year I taught it (1996) over 100 students took the course.

2. The Japan Foundation is planning to create a network or forum among past Japan Foundation fellows. Please let us know if you have any suggestions in terms of themes, format, etc.
