Answer: The Japan Foundation Fellowship experience allowed me to conduct vital research in Japan for my film on Isamu Noguchi. Research is a critical part of creating a foundation for the story or script. One of my goals as a filmmaker is to tell stories about Japan and US-Japan relations to further a deeper understanding between the two countries. THe Japan Foundation research fellowship was integral to solidifying my career as a filmmaker and to continue telling stories about Japan that may not be well known to a larger international public.

2. The Japan Foundation is planning to create a network or forum among past Japan Foundation fellows. Please let us know if you have any suggestions in terms of themes, format, etc.

Answer: It would be great to have areas of interest within Japanese Studies so that people can connect on different levels within Japanese Studies.
