Answer: Studied Japanese language intensively for 6 months in Mombusho school. Continued to study after return to US and again after I returned to work in Japan in 1995.

2. The Japan Foundation is planning to create a network or forum among past Japan Foundation fellows. Please let us know if you have any suggestions in terms of themes, format, etc.

Answer: Utlilization of foreign academics in Japan, particularly women academics.
