Answer: i am continuing my research into the family life and history of Hirata Atsutane and his descendants while running an Education Abroad Program for the University of California at Meijigakuin University.

3. Where did you acquire your most advanced Japanese language training for your research?

Answer: A. I learned it at a university. (Wisconsin)

1. Please describe briefly how the Japan Foundation Fellowship experience influenced your career.

Answer: I received my fellowship just last year. Receiving it aided in getting a salary increase for this year. in addition, I am planning to deliver a paper at a workshop at Sophia university this coming Saturday (November 20, 2010) based on a text I acquired while on my fellowship.

2. The Japan Foundation is planning to create a network or forum among past Japan Foundation fellows. Please let us know if you have any suggestions in terms of themes, format, etc.
