1. Please describe briefly how the Japan Foundation Fellowship experience influenced your career.

Answer: Both the financial support of Japan Foundation and the prestige associated with JF helped open many doors (related to academic research) while in Japan, and still continue to do so today! The book that I plan to write is largely based on the research that I conducted while a doctoral fellow at Nara kenritsu Kashihara kokogaku kenkyujo.

2. The Japan Foundation is planning to create a network or forum among past Japan Foundation fellows. Please let us know if you have any suggestions in terms of themes, format, etc.

Answer: Possibly a general theme on what it means to contribute to the "public good."
