Three Different Types of Scripts in Japanese; hiragana, katakana and kanji.
hiragana ( ): syllabic scripts each of which represents a different sound, used for native or naturalized Japanese words.
katakana ( ): syllabic scripts each of which represents a different sound, used for foreign words and names, loanwords, onomatopoeia, etc.
kanji ( ): Chinese characters.
