Time & Location
Gas South Convention Center (Atlanta, GA)
JapanFest began in 1981 as Japan Week, a biannual series of Japan-related cultural events organized by the Consulate General of Japan that took place around Atlanta. In 1988, the name changed to JapanFest, and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Georgia (JCCG), the Japan America Society of Georgia (JASG), and the Consulate General of Japan each organized events. Over the years the event changed names and locations, but the focus remained the same –promoting the understanding and appreciation of Japanese culture. This fall, September 17-18, the festival will be held at the Gas South Convention Center in Duluth.
